When a brother in arms falls on the battlefield, it is our duty to pick up his sword and carry the battle forward. John Lewis and CT Vivian dedicated their lives to the fight for voting rights for all Americans. They were instrumental to the passage of the Voting Rights Act. We can show them our love and respect by carrying forward the fight to extend, preserve, and protect the voting rights of all people.
- Look at H.R.1 – For the People Act of 2019, the voter legislation that Congressman Lewis was working on, and find out how you can support it.
- Write to Congressman Jim Himes, US Senator Chris Murphy, and US Senator Richard Blumenthal and ask them to champion the legislation of Congressman John Lewis.
- Make a contribution to the voting rights work of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
- Support the voting rights work of Stacey Abrams and Fair Fight Action.
